Vienna and beyond

Vienna and beyond
We go back into Vienna, and wander around seeing new alleys and side streets.
We find a large fountain in a square that has multiple figures , one looks like Poseidon with the spear, another has a raft paddle?? I'm not sure if it's Mike or marq?
We separated for a while today, liam wanted to take it slow getting out of camp, I wanted to head into town. We finally meet up at McDonalds ( free wifi).
As I'm stealing so.e of liams french fries.
It begins to rain and it's a downpour for 15 minutes....
It finally slows down
We head out and find an amazing clock down a side street on a building. It's about 5 meters tall with a 2.5 meter person that points out the minutes, it's mostly in gold leaf and copper that has turned green.
We wander reading menus and trying to find a place to eat....
We eat at a n outside restaurant ( italian) restaurant.
People watch.
Back to the train station
We decide to head west, tomorrow , through the rolling hills of eastern austria, back to the alps to the German national park at berschgarten, for some hiking.

We're back in the alps
Along the road we buy some blueberries, raspberries at a small stand from gramps.
And the mountains never stop being dramatic.
We 're up early laundry done last nite, even clean sheets...
We get recommendation from tourist office for a gorge walk, we head that way.
After an hour of travel on gorgeous back roads we come to a town called "Weissbach"
We go in the tourist office, the employee asks us where are you from? His name is David ,and he lived in Portland for a year on se Morrison and 11th. Working as an intern for the forest service.....
He recommended some hikes.
Off we go up into the gorge 5euro admission
It's beautiful about a mile walk thru a tight walled gorge all on boardwalks pounding turbulent water. About 3-10 metres wide and about 20 meters high. Really beautiful.
We head back to berschgarten and drive up into the hills for a hike with a view.
This hike is up hill and up hill, we sweat and trudge along for about 2 miles. The clouds come in and it's starting to drizzle..and it's almost 6 pm.so much for a view .... we turn back put on rain gear. We get back to camp and decide to eat in the camp restaurant. A cold beer , jager snitzchel , spatzel and salad yum.
