To slovakia
We try To head out of krakow, and
Google manages to take us right thru the city
It's interesting, but I'm glad we didn't spend the day, kinda drab.....
We're heading to Budapest but will try to raft in the Slovakian mountains between here and there
The flat plains of poland that the Russians and Germans used as killing fields are gone, were getting into hills and farms and mountains in the distance. Btw this is southern Poland
3hrs to rafting 6hrs to Budapest
Now we're getting ski area billboards on the roadside and the houses are looking a little like those in the alps......
We see up ahead there's huge construction going on for a huge highway...
So we get slowed down again.....
We wind up hills into the higher parts
What I spot on the side of the road a woman with a table and quart jars filled with huckleberries....
I don't stop....
I turn around and go back
She's selling them a little cheaper than the one 200 kilometers ago yesterday
She also has what looks like honey and it is... and it tastes great $7
In her little cabinet she has round rolls...
So Liam and I bother pick one.
Off we go
We have the berries with granola
And pick up the rolls, wow there heavy..
Take a bite and WHAT......
Weird this bread tastes like smoky cheese
Yew....
Google says
Its smoked goat cottage cheese, farmer style...
Not that nice roll we were expecting
Now that reminds me of when we were in zermatt Switzerland the first morning we were walking around and Liam went into a bakery to get us a coffee and bun
I picked out my croissant and Liam picked out his another bigger one....
We walked out sipping our coffees on the main tourist road. I took a nice sip of caffe and a delicious bite of my buttery and flaky croissant.
I turned to Liam just as he bit into his and the look on his face, horrified ! He didn't know what he just ate.
He looked at the end of his croissant and there was a hot dog end....
His croissant was stuffed with a Fenway Frank!
He was not expecting that
It was kinda funny, and I didn't kid him about it for the rest of the day.....ha
Well the cheese is still in the van
We get to the national park
There's a ski area
The rivers are too low, rafting is over now
Whaaaaa
So we head to Buda pest
